Since its inception, the Foundation has contributed nearly $200,000 to the Library for the purchase of adult fiction and non-fiction materials, which include materials for the Audio/Visual collection, Reference Department and Outreach Department. The Foundation has recently pledged $12,000 to underwrite the first year of occupancy for the new York Street Branch Library in the Quincy Senior and Family Resource Center at 639 York Street. This pledge was possible due to a $44,000 Illinois First grant it successfully sought and received. In 2002, the Foundation took the first step toward extending its reach into the community. The Foundation’s Board voted to donate $5,000 to establish an endowment fund within the Community Foundation of the Quincy Area . The Library Foundation also is able to share in all advertising and promotional campaigns through the Community Foundation of the Quincy Area.
